What did you do before joining Edward Jones?
I was a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Canada.
How would you describe the firm's training program? How did it prepare you for success?
It didn't just teach me how to manage money. The training program focused on how to build relationships, earn trust and provide value to people who are looking to retire or put their kids through school.
What do you find most satisfying about your career?
Not just the lives of individuals, but generationally across a family, I can make a difference. The gratitude grown children have for you when you have done a good, honest job for their parents is very rewarding. Obviously the financial rewards are not to be ignored either. By doing well by my clients and growing my business, I'm able to have an extremely positive job on the lives of my own family as well.
What hardships did you face getting to this point in your career?
The same ups and downs anyone growing a business would face. The difference is, you're not alone when you go through difficult times. There are vets who have been there and managed through it and they are available to support you.
What value do you place on making face-to-face contact with clients and prospective clients?
Nothing builds trust faster than meeting with someone in person and showing them you want to know all about them so you can help.
