What did you do before Edward Jones?
I was temping at a local hospital for two years in their finance department. Most of my career was in insurance and re-insurance.

How does Edward Jones compare to the companies where you previously worked?
I like the atmosphere. There is always support at every level and in every department--like a huge family. Our competition is from outside the company, not within.

What does it take to be a successful branch office administrator (BOA) at Edward Jones?
A real interest in and concern for your clients. With that comes a positive and successful work environment, which in turn grows the branch reputation and the amount of investment in the branch.

What is it like to work in a two-person office?
I love it. We have a driving force in our office. It is very positive. I have a great Financial Advisor, wonderful clients and a beautiful office to work in. I consider myself very fortunate.

What kinds of things do you do every day to help the clients?
Our clients know we are always there for them and we always put them first. We contact any client who is unwell just to check in. We handle their requests promptly and accurately and have an open-door policy. They enjoy just dropping in for a chat. We are their office of choice for investing and for any other questions they think we can answer.

Describe a memorable experience with a client that illustrates what it's like to work for Edward Jones.
An elderly client recently lost his wife. She did a lot of wool tapestry work, and one tapestry wasn't finished. He asked if I knew anyone who could finish it for him. I am completing it for him. It is part of helping a client through a rough time.

What kind of support do you get from the home office?
Every department at headquarters is truly supportive. They are always helpful and patient - I couldn't cope with their jobs. They are really great.
